Untypical bar of an American owner lying in the heart of Žižkov quarter (also called Prague’s Montmartre). The bar is named after icon of American underground literature. It has about 60 seats and it’s characterized by its typical atmosphere. Instead of the usual wooden floor, cozy looking carpet is used, you can sit on the old seats from a theatre and light comes from tens of lit candles. Staff is nice, fast and has perfect knowledge of English.
The bar offers variety of cocktails, you can choose from more than 100 kinds of them.
The owner is a very friendly and kind man, so from time to time there is a special offer of discounts on drinks. Sunday’s offer of beer for only 7 CZK became a legend and tradition, so did Tuesday’s Ladies night, when all women in the bar get sangria on the house.
Clientele of the bar is very international, because it’s advertised in many guides and because several hostels are located nearby – so you can meet people from all around the world. Besides the tourists you can meet various Žižkov patriots and artists there, average age of clients is usually around 30.
The bar opens at 7 pm, closing time depends on the clientele, usually it’s around 4 am. Payment by card is not possible.
