NoD café is a multi-purpose alernative café that’s right in the centre of Prague. It will take you about five minutes to get here from Old Town Square and it’s only two minutes far away from Náměstí Republiky, right above the music club Roxy. A big part of the place serves as a café and restaurant, the rest is reserved for temporary exhibitions of paintings and sculptures, for fashion shows and theatrical performances – you can check the schedule of events at their website. Even though the building is really old, the place itself looks modern or even functionalist (thanks to concrete floor, white walls and simple decoration).
In the morning NoD functions as a café, where you can enjoy breakfast. Czech „štrůdl“ is considered a tasty speciality. For lunch there is always five meals to chose from, a soup with main course will cost you about 100 Kč. In the evening the café changes into a dynamic bar with nice music and dim light. You can enjoy one of many mixed drinks, brands of rum and whiskey. Or have a nonalkoholic drink like vanilla coke. Sometimes the are discounts on certain drinks.
People who come here change with the day. In the morning you will see artists sipping on coffee, around noon there will be many workers who enjoy their lunch. In the evening you’ll meet a lot of interesting young people and also foreigners. If you like alternative culture, you will surely like NoD café.
