Everyone who stays in Prague for more than three days of their live should definitely visit this iconic brewery. It’s a unique place in Europe, where brewing has a five hundred year long continuos tradition. The restaurant has eight differently stylized halls. Most interesting of these could be Akademy hall, many significant people from Czech culture used to meet here. Knight hall is also worth noticing. It’s decorated with many medieval weapons and armors and it gives you the feeling of being in an old castle tavern. In the brewery building there is also a cabaret, where cultural performances take place from time to time. You can enjoy a lunch or dinner or have a few beers. Or even book one of the halls for holding your own event there.
You definitely shouldn’t miss the 13% black lager beer. It’s mostly made of Czech ingredients, with no preservatives being used. Customers drink on average about 2000 of those every day. It may be partly because it’s the only brand of beer that they offer. If you want to order lunch, you stand no chance in getting anything else but Czech cuisine. There is beer cheese, smoked pork or roast pork knuckle with horseradish on the menu. Prices are a little bit higher (lunch and beer will cost you around 200,- Kč). Especially in summer months it’s better to make a reservation in advance, since the restaurant gets really crowded. Opening hours are daily from 10 am to 11 pm.
