You can stumble upon this café while walking through the arcade where Lucerna is to be found. The arcade has three entrances – from streets called Štepánská or Vodičkova, or from Venceslav’s square. This café will provide you with a nice vibe of coziness that you can hardly find in other cafés.
It doesn’t look that special on the outside but once you walk through the door you will find yourself in quite an attractive smoke room with a bar. The second room is nonsmoking with bigger tables that are meant for large groups of people. Sometimes also sales exhibitions of paintings and photographs by underground arstists take place here. If you fail to find a spot to sit (which can happen quite easily), you can go outside and take a seat at one of the round tables there. Personally I would rely on making a reservation one day ahead. Sometimes it’s possible that the waiter will kind of forget about you, but you won’t blame them with all the hustle going on. They will probably come back to you, apologizing sincerely. And we’ve got great news for dog owners. Pets are allowed, you will even get a bowl of water for them.
The menu card is very oblong and a huge amount of types of coffee and non-alcoholic drinks or milkshakes stands written on it. I would recommend a 480ml ice-coffee with a big portion of whipped cream. There is really a lot to choose from. If you’re not a fan of caffeine, you will probably get blown away by lemonades of many different tastes. Served in big glasses. If you’re in a mood for something sweet, you can order a dessert or freshly baked croissants. The prices are regarding to the location relatively acceptable. You won’t be paying more than 60,- Kč for one drink. This place is great for those who prefer cozy to modern.
