If you are in the center of Prague caught by hunger, or you want to sit with friends over a good beer, is this truly unique pub the right solution for you.The interior equipment and the pub are temperate and the style looks back proudly to the traditional hospitable environment from 60′s to 70′s of the last century. Immediately after entry you can feel the atmosphere, which has disappeared in most other Czech restaurants lately. Nearly everything is conformed to the old-style, as the tables are orientated in long rows; you sit on wooden benches and staff wears old-fashioned clothes. What makes Lokál so great is the almost homely environment and the precision and quality of even the most ordinary things.
The menu includes the best of the traditional Czech dishes and you better not look for some extraordinary culinary delights, but the taste and performance of food is unbeatable. Emphasis is placed on truly fresh and quality ingredients, along with a traditional “homy” preparation. You can be sure that your food is not chemically flavored, that the sauces are notartificially thickened, and that – for example – a steak was fried in butter. The staff is friendly, fast and truly on the level. And if you’re really hungry and the (already large) portion didn’t satisfy you, you get an extra portion of sauce or attachment for free.
Lokál offers only one kind of beer which is the Pilsner Urquell lager. The exceptional quality of the beer was ensured not only by the implementation of small tanks, but also by regular maintenance of cleanliness of pipes and by ultimately correct drawing. Many will be surprised by the fact that you can choose from three ways of serving beer “šnit” (with a standard foam), “mlíko” (full and high foam) and “čochtan”(without the foam with a strong flavor).
Finally, I would recommend a telephone booking in advance – it’s often busy.
